Goodness of the Niagara Grape

The Goodness of the Niagara Grape

There are white grapes, and then there are Welch’s Niagara grapes.

Crisp and sweet, the Niagara grape is a unique golden American grape that produces a light and refreshing 100% juice with a beautiful golden hue and an exquisite taste.

A cousin of Welch’s purple Concord grape, the Niagara grape (Vitis labrusca) is quite different from standard white table grapes.

Besides a sophisticated flavor profile, it has a thick golden skin and crunchy seeds, which deliver naturally occurring plant nutrients called polyphenols.

In order to preserve the grape’s inherent nutrition when making Niagara grape juice, Welch’s squeezes the whole grape, including the skin and seeds, to release the polyphenols straight from the grape and into the juice.

Welch’s Global Ingredients Group also sells FruitWorx Niagara real fruit pieces, which are perfect for creating delicious snack and bakery products.

Through Welch’s Global Ingredients Group, Niagara grape juice and real fruit pieces are now available to food and beverage manufacturers to use in their own products.
